Code of Conduct

In order to be a part of the Cinema Arts Centre community and attend events, all guests, members, and staff are required to abide by the following standards.

Respecting Our Staff

Please treat our staff with dignity and respect. They are here to help ensure a good experience for everyone. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who violates our code of conduct.

Our guests are expected to act in accordance with all posted signage and the requests of staff. Disruptive, aggressive, or disrespectful behavior will result in being asked to leave the theater.

If a staff member makes a request or gives a directive, please adhere to the best of your ability. This includes presenting tickets when requested, changing locations of standby lines, and abiding by waiting areas during celebrity events.

We understand that sometimes we make mistakes! If you have an issue or concern, please direct your concerns to: info@cinemaartscentre.org or our Co- Directors Dylan@cinemaartscentre.org and Kelsie@cinemaartscentre.org.

All members at all levels are required to redeem their member benefits with box office and cafe staff. We ask that you have your membership card ready when you approach the register to ensure a smooth and accurate transaction. Box Office cannot always accommodate requests for sold-out shows, regardless of membership level, so be sure to book your tickets in a timely manner.

Our ADA-Assigned seating will be reserved for ADA attendees. Please consult with the box office if you require ADA seating. If you do not require ADA seating, staff reserves the right to ask you to move to accommodate someone else.

We do allow service animals compliant with ADA Policies. Professional Aides/Assistants will receive a member-fare ticket for guests who require additional assistance.

Per our FAQs, “All ticket sales are final. The Cinema Arts Centre does not offer refunds or exchanges.” While our policy is ‘No Refunds,’ we do understand that life happens. If you contact us before your showtime, we can transfer your ticket to another date or showtime for the same film.

We follow all alcohol policies in accordance with the law. We limit drink purchases to two alcoholic drinks per guest at a time, upon presentation of proper identification. If you are purchasing in a group, we reserve the right to request identification from all members of your group. We also reserve the right of refusal if the customer appears to be already inebriated.

Respecting Each Other

Being a part of a community requires mutual respect and consideration. Along with respecting our staff, it is also important to respect your fellow guests.

No hate speech, no violent behavior, etc.

We encourage our guests to use the restroom that matches their gender identity. Nonbinary guests are asked to use the restroom that they feel most comfortable in.

Cell phones should be turned off or placed on Do Not Disturb during showtimes and discussions. If you need to accept a phone call, please wait until you have fully exited the theater before answering. The use of cell phones in any capacity is discouraged during screenings. Responding to a text, checking iMDB, or any other phone usage is distracting to those around you, no matter how low you put your brightness.

We ask that you hold all commentary until after the film or during a designated discussion/ Q&A session. Chatter during the movie is distracting to the other guests and can disrupt their enjoyment. There are exceptions to this rule, (i.e. The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Room, Sing-A-Longs, etc.) but if asked to remain quiet, please respect your fellow guests.

We expect our guests to ask respectful questions. Any personal requests, requests for personal information, or any questions deemed inappropriate may result in being asked to leave the event. We encourage discourse and differing opinions, but we highly value the importance of treating our guests with dignity and respect.

A celebrity guest does not guarantee access to a photo op or autograph. If there is a designated meet & greet, the time will be properly advertised, along with all restrictions. We understand the excitement around these events, but your patience, respect, and understanding is appreciated.

Joining the standby line does not guarantee entry into the event. For special events, there will be a 10-minute wait (after the listed show time) before empty seats become available to the public. Regular screenings will have a 20-minute wait (after the listed show time) due to the addition of trailers.

Reserved Seating is a benefit accessible to Cinema Friend-level members ONLY. While others have been accommodated in the past, going forward, reserved seating is only reserved for those who pay for the benefit. Please ask the box office for help in finding your reserved seats. If you take an already reserved seat, you may be asked to leave.

If you encounter a situation with another guest behaving in a problematic way, please do not address the situation yourself. Alert staff so they may properly handle the situation.

We expect our guests to abide by all health and safety expectations outlined by public health officials.

Respecting The Space

It is important to respect the people you share a space with, but it is also important to respect the space itself. Cinema Arts Centre is a place for us all to experience movies and art in various capacities. By keeping the place clean, organized, and in order, we are able to ensure an enjoyable experience for all guests.

Please do not touch any of the technical equipment or displays. If there is an issue, please address it with staff. We also ask that guests do not move furniture or fixtures. Please ask a staff member if you require assistance. This includes bringing additional seating into the theater.

If there is a mess, spill, technical issue, or conflict, please alert staff immediately.

We are not responsible for property left behind at Cinema Arts Centre. We regularly donate items after an extended period of time if they remain unclaimed. We understand the stress of a missing item, but we cannot allow guests to look for their lost items in theaters while a film is in progress. Please allow for staff to assist with lost items.

While our cafe space is generally open to the public, we cannot guarantee access or availability. This space is also used for rentals and private events. If you would like to ensure access to the space, please contact the box office to find out about room status and scheduling.

You are required to show your ticket to access any of our event spaces. Please keep a copy of your ticket handy as it may be required to be shown on multiple occasions.

Smoking or vaping; pocket knives, sharp objects, or weapons of any kind; laser pointers; pepper spray.

Recording devices are not permitted to be used during screenings. We allow photos/videos during Q&As and Meet & Greets, unless otherwise specified. Please respect the requests of staff and guests regarding recording devices.

Outside food and beverages are not permitted anywhere in the theater or Sky Room Café.

While we are strong advocates for animals, they don’t necessarily know how to follow the code of conduct. For this reason, pets other than service animals are not permitted to enter the cafe or theater spaces.
